Ex-Pimco Manager Settles Fraud Charges

Law360 (June 12, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Halting an impending courtroom battle, the former manager of a Pimco mutual fund agreed to fork over a settlement for fraudulent charges of market timing in a deal with hedge fund Canary Capital Partners LLC, U.S. regulators announced on Monday.

Kenneth Corba, the former manager of the Pimco Growth Fund and the former CEO of PEA Capital LLC, a financial services company, was one of two mutual fund executives accused of fraud by the Securities and Exchange Commission two years ago for the alleged deal....
