Patent Holders Can Be Sued Out-Of-State: Fed. Circ.

Law360, New York (September 19, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Patent holders beware: you may be subject to lawsuits in more states than you imagine. Until recently, a California-based holder of a patent for folding stretchers to transport injured animals thought it was off the hook in a noninfringement and invalidity lawsuit, but the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit has put it back in the hot seat in a federal trial court in Washington.
