Al Gore Hits Al Jazeera With New Claims Over Legal Fees
By Matt Chiappardi (September 3, 2015, 8:28 PM EDT) -- Former Vice President Al Gore and his Current TV co-founder launched another lawsuit in Delaware Chancery Court late on Wednesday, aimed at Al Jazeera, seeking to have the Qatari broadcaster cover their legal fees in various disputes per its merger agreement with the defunct cable channel.
The complaint was filed under seal, but an accompanying public motion to fast-track the suit indicates that Gore and former Current TV CEO Joel Hyatt allege that Al Jazeera is not making good on indemnification and fee advancement obligations purportedly stemming from the 2013 deal that saw the Qatari media company buy the flagging cable...
