Rambus-Samsung DRAM Patent License Trial Begins

Law360, New York (September 22, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Trial kicked off Monday in Rambus Inc.'s legal feud with Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd., with the two rivals facing off in California federal court over Samsung's assertion that Rambus breached a dynamic random access memory chip patent license deal.

Opening arguments in the three-year-long battle began Monday in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California before a courtroom so packed that Judge Ronald Whyte was forced to shutter the doors to attendees shortly after the bench trial commenced.
