Delta Seeks More Time For Chapter 11 Plan

Law360, New York (June 15, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- With its eyes set on emerging from bankruptcy by the first half of 2007, Delta Air Lines Inc. asked a bankruptcy court judge Wednesday for a four-month extension to file a reorganization plan.

Because the motion has the support of the creditor’s committee, which under bankruptcy law can file a competing plan once the exclusivity period ends, Delta expects the request to be approved.

“It’s pretty typical for a bankruptcy of this size,” said Delta spokeswoman Chris Kelly.
