Patent Appeal Would Disrupt Bankruptcy, Delphi Says

Law360 (June 15, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Delphi Corp. has asked a judge to halt an appeal of a patent case that the beleaguered auto-parts maker says endangers its bankruptcy reorganization.

The dispute in question goes back to 2001, when Automotive Technologies International Inc. sued Delphi and 25 other defendants for infringing its patents on side impact airbag sensors.

A federal district court judge dismissed that lawsuit last year, but ATI has looked to appeal.
