EU Stays On Road To Telecom Reform

Law360, New York (September 25, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The European Commission's long-discussed plan to deregulate the telecom industry in Europe is a step closer to fruition after the European Parliament voted Wednesday to establish a single market that will span all member states.

In November, the EC adopted a proposal for the reform of current European Union telecom regulations, which have been in place since 2003. The plan approved Wednesday is similar to that proposal, but was tweaked before passage.
