HMOs Win Dismissal Of Class Action

Law360, New York (June 20, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Beleaguered UnitedHealth Group Inc. received a rare piece of good news late last week, when a Florida district court dismissed a class action lawsuit by about 700,000 U.S. physicians, who had accused the health insurer of unfairly cutting their reimbursements.

In a summary judgment order issued by Judge Federico A. Moreno, claims were also dismissed against smaller health insurer Coventry Health Care Inc.
