Ex-Computer Associates Exec Pleads Guilty

Law360, New York (June 21, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A former executive of Computer Associates International Inc. pled guilty to obstruction of justice charges Wednesday, the latest domino to fall in the company’s $2.2 billion accounting scandal.

Thomas M. Bennett, 50, will be sentenced Oct. 12, according to Robert Nardoza, spokesperson for the U.S. Attorney’s office in Brooklyn. Bennett, a former senior vice president with the company, faces up to five years in prison and a fine of $250,000.
