FWS To Review Marbled Murrelet's Protected Status

Law360, New York (October 2, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has said it will review the "threatened species" status of the marbled murrelet, a seabird found in the northwestern United States, upon urging from representatives of the forestry industry.

The service said Wednesday that it will conduct a yearlong status review of the marbled murrelet population in California, Oregon and Washington after receiving a petition asking the government to delist the bird in those states.
