Cos. Accused of Blowing Up Balloon Catheter Market
Law360 (June 23, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A Texas-based medical device maker has filed a federal lawsuit against three companies it says are illegally muscling in on the market for dilation balloon catheters often used in sinus surgery. The allegations by Quest Medical Inc. include patent infringement, tortious interference, breach of contract and misappropriation of trade secrets.
The suit, filed in Texas' Eastern District, targets Exploramed II Inc. and Acclarent Inc.—affiliated companies headquartered in California—as well as Advanced Polymers Inc., which is based in New Hampshire.
The charges raised against Advanced Polymers are baseless, according to Tricia Albert, Corporate Counsel for Advanced Polymers.
