EPA Rule Aims To Boost Hazardous Waste Recycling

Law360, New York (October 7, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has unveiled new regulations on solid waste intended to encourage business to recycle more of what have traditionally been classified as hazardous materials.

The final rule, announced on Tuesday, excludes several categories of material from being classified as hazardous waste. Under the old regulations, many materials that could otherwise be recycled were required to be transported and disposed of as hazardous waste.
