3M Sues BPI Over Connector Patents

Law360, New York (October 8, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Megaconglomerate 3M Co. has sued Broadband Products Inc. for allegedly infringing two patents related to wire connector technology.

In a complaint filed Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas, 3M alleges that BPI has sold products that infringe U.S. Patent Numbers 5,067,910 and 5,120,246, both titled “Solderless electrical connector.”

The '910 patent was issued in 1991 and the '246 in 1992, to individual inventors, and both are licensed exclusively to 3M, according to the complaint.
