Ford Wins More Hybrid Vehicle Patent Appeal Board Reviews
Law360, New York (November 10, 2015, 12:06 PM EST) -- Ford on Monday was again granted its request for inter partes review of a hybrid vehicle technology patent owned by Paice LLC, following two other decisions by the Patent Trial and Appeal Board in recent weeks launching reviews requested by the auto giant.
A three-judge panel agreed with Ford Motor Co. to institute four different reviews of Paice LLC and The Abell Foundation Inc.'s U.S. Patent Number 7,237,634 B2, which covers a hybrid car run by a microprocessor, finding the automaker will likely prevail in proving the unpatentability of its challenges to the patent.
