DOJ Ends GPU Antitrust Probe Against Nvidia, ATI

Law360, New York (October 13, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The U.S. Department of Justice has wrapped up its antitrust probe against graphics chip makers ATI Technologies and Nvidia Corp. without taking action, the companies said Monday.

ATI parent Advanced Micro Devices Inc. and Nvidia said the DOJ had formally notified them on Friday that it would not proceed with a case against either of them and had closed the two-year investigation.

A representative for the DOJ did not immediately return calls for comment.
