Court To Rule On Baby Bell Mergers

Law360 (June 28, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal court in Washington, D.C. will decide whether or not to approve the settlements that paved the way for the AT&T/SBC and MCI/Verizon mergers in a hearing scheduled for next month.

U.S. District Judge Emmet G. Sullivan confirmed Tuesday that a hearing will take place on July 12, after which the court will decide to enter or reject the consent decrees that staunched the U.S. Department of Justice’s antitrust complaints against the four companies.
