High Court Turns Down Yamaha's Challenge To $3.4M Verdict

By Dani Meyer (November 16, 2015, 12:50 PM EST) -- The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday refused to hear Yamaha's challenge of a $3.4 million award to a woman who was injured when her Rhino off-road vehicle flipped over while she was driving around her farm.

The high court rejected Yamaha Motor Corp. USA's arguments that the Alabama Supreme Court, which didn't issue an opinion to explain its decision, conflicted with Supreme Court precedent when upholding the judgment in favor of Jacklyn McMahon.

Fred Levin, an attorney for McMahon, told Law360 Monday that he and his client are very pleased with the decision.
