Judge Extends Deadline For Northwest Chapter 11 Plan

Law360, New York (June 29, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Bankrupt carrier Northwest Airline has won a little more time to tweak its reorganization plan, thanks to a bankruptcy court ruling that extends the deadline for the plan to Jan. 15.

Judge Allan Gropper of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York said the extension was justified, since Northwest has made significant progress its reorganization plan since filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.

The extension also pushes back the deadline for alternate creditor proposals to March 16.
