Silicon Valley Counsel: AMD's Harry Wolin

Law360 (June 29, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A thorough re-thinking of IP under general counsel Harry Wolin has helped chip maker Advanced Micro Devices Inc. focus on intellectual property as a core asset, even as the company fights a second front in its antitrust battle with arch rival Intel Corp.

“When I joined AMD, its IP department had lot of good ideas and very smart people, but not a lot of process or experience in protecting IP or utilizing the IP protection they had obtained,” Wolin said.
