Calif. Supreme Court Takes Up County Strike Case

Law360, New York (October 20, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The California Supreme Court has agreed to hear a case involving Sacramento County’s efforts to stop unionized county sanitation employees from striking in 2006.

On Thursday, the state supreme court granted the review, which was requested by the county after a state appeals court reversed a decision allowing the county to prevent certain workers from striking.

The county filed two lawsuits against a laundry list of unions in August and September 2006 after the unions threated to strike during negotiations over a new collective bargaining agreement,...
