Execs Charged With Peddling Trade Secrets

Law360, New York (July 5, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Three former senior employees of Metaldyne Corporation have been charged with stealing secrets to help give its Chinese competitors a foothold as a supplier of powdered metal heavy automotive parts.

The indictment, unsealed Wednesday in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, accuses Anne Lockwood, 53, formerly a vice president for sales; her husband, Michael Haehnel, 51, formerly a senior engineer; and Fuping Liu, 42, a former metallurgist; with charges including conspiracy, theft of trade secrets and fraud.
