Conoco Partner Shielded By Workers' Comp. Law: 5th Circ.

Law360, New York (December 9, 2015, 1:07 PM EST) -- The Fifth Circuit ruled 2-1 that a partner in a joint venture with ConocoPhillips is shielded from a worker's injury suit under the Louisiana Workers’ Compensation Act on Tuesday, finding the partner was an employer under the law even though it wasn't named in a contract.
