Class Certified Against Cooper Tire

Law360, New York (October 22, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal judge on Tuesday certified a class of more than 800 plaintiffs in a lawsuit against Cooper Tire and Rubber Co. in a dispute over post-retirement health benefits.

Three named plaintiffs in the case — spouses of former Cooper employees and one former employee — sued in April 2006 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio, alleging that the company breached its pension and insurance agreement with workers.
