DirecTV Socked With More Damages

Law360, New York (July 7, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- After being slammed with a $78.9 judgment for patent infringement, DirecTV Group Inc. is going to have to reach into its pocketbook again and pay hefty post-verdict damages.

This week, the U.S. District Court of the Eastern District of Texas ordered that because satellite television company DirecTV willfully infringed on a Finisar Corporation patent, it must pay an additional $25 million, Finisar said.
