NJ DEP Hits Tronox With Superfund Cleanup Suit

Law360, New York (October 23, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection has filed a lawsuit against Tronox LLC to recover costs related to the cleanup of a contaminated New Jersey Superfund site.

The DEP lawsuit, filed Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey, claims that Tronox is the successor-in-interest to a 53-acre property in Somerset County, N.J., that was contaminated with hazardous waste from a wood treatment plant from 1910 to 1956.
