FCC To Vote On Adelphia Sale

Law360, New York (July 7, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The Federal Communications Commission has announced it will soon rule on the $17 billion sale of Adelphia Communications Corp.’s assets to former rivals Comcast Corp. and Time Warner Corp., in the final chapter of what has become a long-running saga.

The deal, which will be voted on officially at a July 13 FCC public meeting, is widely expected to be approved, though there could be certain restrictions related to regional sports programming.

Currently, 1.3 million Comcast subscribers in Maryland and Virginia cannot watch Washington Nationals games...
