Deals Rumor Mill: Syngenta, First Quantum, Apollo Global

By Benjamin Horney (December 18, 2015, 6:31 PM EST) -- Swiss chemical giant Syngenta AG is prepared to begin discussing deals with a variety of companies, Reuters reported on Friday, including Monsanto Co., which was rejected in an attempted takeover of Syngenta earlier this year. According to the report, which cited comments apparently made by Syngenta Chief Executive John Ramsay, the company is ready and willing to "discuss options with the whole industry," as long as the intention of any dealings is to create value and benefit all sides. Reports earlier this month said that China National Chemical Corp., or ChemChina, had set its sights on trying to buy Syngenta via a revised bid, after its original $42 billion offer was rumored to have been rejected....
