9th Circ. Rejects Granite Rock Suit Against Teamsters

Law360, New York (October 24, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- An appellate judge has upheld a lower court's decision dismissing construction company Granite Rock Co.'s suit against the International Brotherhood of Teamsters for allegedly interfering with the company's contract with a local Teamster chapter.

In the same opinion, issued Wednesday, Judge Ronald M. Gould of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit found that the parties are required to submit any contract disputes to arbitration, even a dispute over whether a contract exists, under the contract's arbitration clause.
