Judge: Hip Hop Mogul Has Rap As Bad Businessman

Law360, New York (July 10, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal judge has ordered a bankruptcy trustee to takeover Death Row Records, saying the company’s leaders – namely notorious rap mogul Marion “Suge” Knight -- have mismanaged it.

U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Ellen Carroll seized control from Knight Friday, saying it seemed like no one was at the helm of the company.

The U.S. trustee for the case had asked that Knight be kept from the label after the he admitted he hadn’t looked at Death Row’s financial records for 10 years.
