Merrill Lynch Wins Injunction Against Ex-Adviser

Law360, New York (October 27, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The brokerage arm of Merrill Lynch & Co. Inc. has won a partial injunction against a former financial adviser accused of stealing clients, with a federal judge ordering a halt to further client solicitation.

Judge John Steele of the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida issued the preliminary injunction order Thursday to prevent Sharon M. Kurgis from further luring her former Merrill Lynch Pierce Fenner & Smith Inc. clients to competitor Moors & Cabot Inc.
