Patent Exhaustion Case Tossed Back To District Court

Law360 (July 11, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A messy case that centered on the definitions of implied licenses and patent exhaustion has been sent back to district court, after the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit partially affirmed and partially vacated the lower court’s ruling.

Chipmaker LG Electronics Inc. sued several customers of Intel, including Bizcom Corp., alleging the companies infringed several LGE patents for chipsets by combining the products purchased from Intel with other products.
