Law360, Chicago (January 7, 2016, 3:02 PM EST) -- Sears Holding Corp. and grill maker Weber-Stephen Products LLC are in settlement negotiations to end their patent infringement battle, the companies told an Illinois federal judge on Thursday, just a few weeks after the judge ruled that Sears must face the majority of the grill company's claims over specific features of Sears' Kenmore brand grills.
Weber claims that Sears copied certain design features of Weber's Genesis grill line for the Kenmore Elite grills, which Sears began selling after Weber stopped offering its products through the retailer.
