Levene Neale To Pay $2.5M In Malpractice Case

Law360, New York (October 28, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Levene Neale Bender Rankin & Brill LLP, the former counsel for the creditors committee of electronics company SonicBlue Inc., has reportedly agreed to fork over $2.5 million to lay to rest a malpractice claim arising from the firm's alleged conflict of interest in the Chapter 11 proceedings.

The Los Angeles-based firm, which didn't admit any liability in the settlement, will pay the $2.5 million to resolve claims by a U.S. trustee overseeing the case, although it will be allowed to keep some $1 million in fees...
