Ex-Bayou Boss' Hearing Postponed Again

Law360 (October 28, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Samuel Israel III’s plea hearing over a failed getaway stunt has been postponed again, this time in order for the former hedge fund manager and present inmate to undergo a medical evaluation.

U.S. District Judge Kenneth Karas of the Southern District of New York delayed the hearing so that Israel can undergo a 90-day examination amid concerns about his health.

While Israel is presently serving 20 years for defrauding Bayou Group LLC investors of $450 million, he has yet to enter an overdue plea to charges...
