Lawyer Sanctioned For Frivolous Title VII Suit

Law360 (October 29, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- An Atlanta lawyer has been sanctioned for ignoring undisputed facts in pursuit of a client's “meritless” claim that Ricoh Electronics Inc. passed him over for a promotion because he is white.

U.S. District Judge Richard W. Story of the Northern District of Georgia sanctioned both Stephen M. Katz and his client on Monday, ordering them to pay reasonable costs and attorneys' fees.
