IBM Faces Patent Suit Over Supercomputer

Law360 (October 30, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- IBM Corp.'s “Blue Gene” supercomputer infringes three patents for parallel processors assigned to communications technology company Fifth Generation Computer Corp., a new lawsuit has alleged.

FGC lodged the complaint on Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, accusing the computer giant of refusing to take out a license to use the patent applications despite repeated negotiations between the companies.
