Judge Gives Collins & Aikman Room To Breathe

Law360, New York (July 14, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Swayed by the beleaguered auto supplier’s plea for more time, a federal bankruptcy judge has granted Collins & Aikman an additional two months to file a Chapter 11 plan, allowing the company to retain sole control of its case for a little while longer.

On Thursday, the judge presiding over the hearing in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Michigan granted the extension, pushing back the deadline until Sept. 27.
