Nokia, Palm Slapped Over Touch-Screen Phones

Law360, New York (November 3, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- A New Hampshire-based patent-holding company has hit four major smartphone manufacturers, including Nokia Inc. and Palm Inc., with an infringement suit over a patent relating to the use of touch screens to create and control audio playlists.

The complaint — filed Friday in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas by Media Digital Inc. — names LG Electronics MobileComm USA Inc. and Samsung Telecommunications America LP in addition to Nokia and Treo-manufacturer Palm.
