Plaintiff Bid To Disband Baycol MDL Nixed

Law360 (November 4, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- A federal judge has tossed a putative class action from the multidistrict litigation over Bayer's anti-cholesterol drug Baycol after granting the drugmaker's request for summary judgment and denying the plaintiffs' motion to dissolve the MDL.

In an order issued Friday, Chief Judge Michael Davis of the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota said the seven-year-old MDL was the best forum for dealing with the remaining 100-odd product liability cases.
