Friendster, Nike, Others Sued Over Rich-Media Patent

Law360 (November 5, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- Balthaser Online Inc. is suing a slew of video game producers, Web media companies and retailers — including Friendster Inc., Electronic Arts Inc. and Nike Inc. — alleging infringement of a patent related to rich-media applications for the Internet.

The complaint, lodged in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, claims that the 20 assorted defendants operate Web sites that use interactive media technology patented by Balthaser.
