Riceland Fights Remand Order In Tainted Rice Case

Law360, New York (November 6, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- Riceland Foods Inc. has asked a federal judge to reconsider remanding to state court a proposed class action over allegedly tainted rice, arguing that the plaintiffs erroneously reported the company wasn't facing any similar class actions.

Riceland said on Wednesday that the company was facing two other, similar class actions, and asked Judge William R. Wilson Jr. of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Arkansas to re-evaluate remanding the case.
