Judge Won't Freeze Evergreen Shares

Law360 (November 6, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- A federal bankruptcy judge has reportedly refused to enjoin British bank Barclays PLC from trading in 12.2 million shares of Evergreen Solar Inc.'s stock, which Evergreen alleges Barclays improperly acquired when it bought Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc.'s brokerage arm.

Judge James Peck of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York said in a hearing on Wednesday that Evergreen hadn't shown it would be harmed if Barclays was allowed to trade in its stock, Reuters reported.
