Transocean Sues Again Over Stena Drillships

Law360, New York (November 6, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- In the wake of a district court dismissal in May, Transocean Offshore Deepwater Drilling Inc. has renewed its allegations that drillships built by Stena Drilling Ltd. infringe numerous patents related to oil well exploration.

The complaint, filed Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas, alleges Stena has built and is continuing to build “dual-activity drillships” that infringe the apparatus claims of four Transocean patents.
