Kosher Meatpacker Faces Battle With Creditor

Law360 (November 6, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- Kosher meatpacking business Agriprocessors Inc. faces a potentially contentious battle with a major secured creditor in its attempt to reorganize its business under Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, which the company sought earlier this week.

First Bank Business Capital Inc., which claims Agriprocessors owes it more than $33 million, filed a motion in U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of New York on Wednesday notifying the court that it does not consent to Agriprocessors’ use of any cash in which the lender may have an interest....
