Delta-Northwest Deal Anti-Competitive: AAI

Law360, New York (November 7, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- The U.S. Department of Justice's decision to close its investigation into the proposed $17.7 billion merger between Northwest Airlines Corp. and Delta Air Lines Inc. came under fire Friday from the American Antitrust Institute.

The research and advocacy organization focused on antitrust policy argues that the DOJ's explanation of it's Oct. 29 decision allowing the merger to move forward was both inadequate and difficult to understand.
