Judge Pares Claims From Saturn Timing Chain MDL

Law360 (November 11, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- A judge dismissed several claims against Saturn Corp. on Friday in a multidistrict litigation over allegedly faulty timing chains. But the judge allowed the case to continue as a putative class action, despite objections from Saturn and its parent, General Motors Corp.

Judge Laurie Smith Camp ruled in the U.S. District Court for the District of Nebraska that some plaintiffs who allegedly suffered damages from the faulty timing chains did not have claims that measured up to the requirements of their respective state consumer protection laws....
