Judge Allows Amaranth Case To Move Forward

Law360, New York (November 11, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- Amaranth Advisors LLC has received the go-ahead from a New York state court to move forward with its lawsuit against JPMorgan Chase & Co. that claims the investment bank contributed to the hedge fund's spectacular 2006 collapse.

Judge Richard B. Lowe III of the New York State Supreme Court dismissed most of Amaranth's claims against the bank, but did leave standing the hedge fund's breach-of-contract claim. The judge signed the order Oct. 28, but it was first filed Monday.
