China Settles WTO Row Over Foreign Financial News

Law360, New York (November 13, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- The U.S., the European Union and Canada have settled a trade row with China over regulations restricting the foreign financial news providers working in that country, the EU has confirmed.

A memorandum of understanding signed by China in Geneva on Thursday promised a new regulatory framework that would “level the playing field” for financial news services, such as Thomson Reuters, Bloomberg and Dow Jones, operating in China.
