FDA Demands Checks On All Chinese Dairy Imports

Law360, New York (November 13, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has issued an alert for the examination of all Chinese dairy imports to block products that could be contaminated with the same chemical that tainted baby formula and pet food.

The FDA announced Thursday that all milk-containing products from China - from pudding mix to animal feeds to custard - won't be allowed into the U.S. without proof that the goods don't contain the contaminant melamine.
