Penn State Off Hook In Chemist's Patent Suit

Law360 (November 14, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- A Florida judge has dismissed a patent case from a chemist who alleged that a Pennsylvania State University research department stole his process for converting methane gas into liquid.

Federal Judge K. Michael Moore granted a summary judgment in favor of the defendants on Tuesday for a lack of personal jurisdiction, upholding their claim that they did not have adequate ties to the state of Florida and that the actions involved in conflict took place in Texas and Pennsylvania.
